Practice makes perfect?!

Tomorrow is presentation day, and let me tell you.. boy am I nervous for this. I have no clue why exactly I am because I know my topic like the back of my hand and I am a people person, just something about it is psyching me out. As much as I keep practicing I keep freezing up and forgetting important pieces that I want to discuss but I can't seem to bring myself from getting caught up. I think it is honestly psyching me out more because I can't even do it at my own house how on earth will I be able to do it in front of a panel!? Oh gosh!. This is going to be a very interesting night while I continue practicing.

Special Thanks to. . .

There are many thanks that I feel are necessary at this specific moment and I would like to use this blog post to express them.

First off I would like to thank Mrs. Hall for always being such a fantastic moral support. She is there when ever you need her to pick you up and put you back on your feet, never allowing you to fail. Mrs. Hall helped me tremendously with my product and without her help I probably wouldn't have it be entering into the eighth grade curriculum.

She is always willing to lend a helping hand and  puts herself out there so you can better yourself. She is honestly a phenomenal women and sure knows how to put a smile on your face and make your day ten times better.

Next I would like to thank Mrs. Degelder and Mr. Lippa for providing me the help I needed on creating the lesson plans. I couldn't thank you enough!

Last but not least Mrs. Riordan for taking the time out of her day to have the meeting with me and look over all my work to see if it is something that could potentially enter into the curriculum of the eighth grade.

With the support of all my Senior Project coaches, my family, and Mrs. Riordan I have been able to create something so extraordinary that I never thought I would have been able to do and allow it to go beyond my classroom to enter into the eighth grade curriculum.

Thank you all so much! I greatly appreciate everything you all have done for me.

It's a Go!

So today I had a meeting with the Science Curriculum Coordinator Alison Riordan to discuss the possibilities of my Fingerprints lesson unit entering into the eighth grade curriculum. To be honest this morning I was pretty darn nervous for this meeting, not because I was fearful of Mrs. Riordan but because of the possible opportunity of my work being used by eighth grade teachers in the middle school. As a result of this meeting, let's just say I'm STOKED! Mrs. Riordan loved this idea and thought that this would be great! I can not believe that something I did is actually going to be this big and used in the middle school. It is truly a wonderful feeling that I can't seem to get over.

Potentials

So I emailed Allison Riordan and she was super interested in my idea! This is such an awesome thing because I could potentially have my product adopted into the eighth grade curriculum! Can you say EXCITING!?!?!

Nerves?

Practice Presentations are something that you think is going to be scary, and I don't want to lie to you they are pretty scary. I am not quiet sure why, they just seem to be. That is why I am sorta freaked out about the final presentation... I have know clue how to react to it, other than being very fearful towards it. Especially because the practice ones are in front of people you know not strangers like the final presentation will be like.

contacts

In order to get these lessons into the middle school classrooms, I must go through/ contact Allison Riordan. Allison Riordan is the head of the science departments. So on that note I have to email her my idea and see what she thinks, I don't know how I feel about this as in if I'm nervous or excited. We'll have to find out soon enough.
In my previous post I touched upon my new product, so in this blog I thought I would tell you a little more about it. For the new product I decided to create a forensic science: fingerprints unit that is developed for the eighth grade learning level. I have created seven different lessons all together. Each on grasping a different understanding towards fingerprints. These lessons are followed with worksheets and PowerPoint's from sciencespot.net. This was a fantastic website and I highly recommend to anyone interested in science to check it out!
